RIGS
My
favorite part of the website...
How many times have you read through the Home Theater Magazine
and seen people showing off thier ultimate home theater system?
How many times have you screamed at the BOSE sales man when he
tries to convince you that smaller is better. How many times have
gotten into all our hair pulling fights over whose home theater
or music system is better. Well, now you can bat it out by posting
your system with pics and descriptions right here. You can have
your very own webpage for your home theater, without having to
learn ANYTHING regarding HTML, FTP, or any of that hoopla. Just
send the pictures and the specs of your system to me* and in a
few days they will up here for all to admire.
There are other sites that you can post your system specs on,
but they don't allow you to put pictures. Some allow pictures,
but they are small and you must link them, or they down right
deny you the ability to have them hosted for you. Nearly all other
sites have ads which annoy everyone, honestly, do you like internet
ads? Well, as if I needed to coax you anymore, I will let you
know that I will not only host as many pictures as you want me
to, but I will also let you have an ad free site! What more can
you ask for?
Some pictures are linked to a larger, higher quality version,
make sure to check!

online.

One
great bit about this part of the website is that you will find some
people will open their homes for you to get an experience of their
home theater or music rooms.
One
of the most important part of picking out a speaker system is listening
to them first.
Companies
like SVS do not sell their products anywhere but online. This allows
them to sale direct, removing the middle man, thus creating a product
with a lower end price. However, this inhibits your chances of hearing
them first. Even if you make the trip to your local Hi-Fi store
and listen to their setups, you are not going to get the same experience
as if it were place in a home. There are several reasons for this.
First off and foremost nearly all listening rooms are accoustically
treated to the max. This is to say that they have made a room that
is as sonically sound (pun intended) as possible. When you listen
to the speaker there, you may not hear some of the imperfections
that the speakers or amplifiers have. Remember that episode on Seinfeld
where Elane is trying on a dress at the store and it looks great?
When she gets home and looks at her mirror things are totally
different. Turns out the shop had altered the mirror to make the
purchaser look thinner in order to convince them to make the purchase.
The same thing happens in many of these high end audio stores. |
