Getting 5.1 on the SBLive 5.1

Ok, so you bought the Sound Blaster 5.1 (Gamer, MP3+ or any other Live 5.1 card) and expected to get 5.1 sound from it (I fell into the same boat as you till I upgraded my Sound Blaster Live MP3+ 5.1 to a Hercules GTXP)?  Sorry. Creative has failed again.  You will only get 5.1 audio from DVD's and if you use PowerDVD to do ProLogic MP3's.  But if you really want 5.1 audio and don't want to spend $69-99 on a Voyetra Santa Cruz or AE card (both much  better than the SB Live cards) you can enable "Movie Mode" or CMSS and get 5.1 anything, but you will notice a decrease in the quality of the sound.

But before you do any software modifications, make sure you have the speakers plugged into the card correctly...

Now, Click on Start - Programs - Creative, and look for Surround Mixer.  Open it.
Click Task, then select Watch Movie
Now select Movie Mode
You're done.

Ok.  So some of you are telling me that you do not have the MovieMode option.  Click here to get the .sea (super environment) files to allow this.  These are from my SBLive 5.1 MP3+.
