PowerDVD 4.0 XP This is how to get 5.1 DVD's with PowerDVD and how to get 5.1 MP3's with PowerDVD. This will be done with the help of pictures, self explanatory really.
Open up PowerDVD 4.0 XP
Click the Hammer icon (or hit Ctrl-C) for the Configuration panel
Click on Audio at the top. Select the setup you have, 2.1's, Digital output (only if you have a digital decoder like the Audio Tornado or DD51 or digital speakers, no Klipsch speakers are digital), 4.1 and then 5.1 (6 speaker).
Now click "Advanced" button
If your DVD's seem to play too quiet, select Noisy Environment. (note, do not select this if you want 5.1 MP3 playback)
Now, make your screen look like this one.
Ok, so now you will have 5.1 DVD's with DTS decoding ability (depending on if your DVD is DTS encoded) and 5.1 MP3's.
